My name is Samantha Findlay, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Counseling from Ithaca College, followed by a Master’s in Social Work from Monmouth University.
My passion for making a difference began in my youth, whether it was supporting friends during challenging times or advocating for social issues, such as campaigning against dog racing. This drive to effect change has fueled my dedication to the field of therapy, intensifying my commitment to assisting others in overcoming their struggles and enhancing their well-being.
My therapeutic approach is centered on Motivational Interviewing, Empowerment, and Psychodynamic techniques, enriched by extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have worked with diverse populations, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and mood and personality disorders.
My primary objective is to create a supportive and safe environment where clients can feel at ease, even in their most vulnerable moments. Together, we will set objectives and embark on a journey toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Remember, you are never alone in this journey.
